(updated February 2007)

Currently in the Research and Planning stage, Dan Noyes is hoping to contribute to the 375th Anniversary of the Town of Newbury (2010) a replica of the Shallup boats that carried settlers to the shores of the Parker River in 1635.

Upcoming work includes grantwriting and planning the budget for materials and man-hours on the project.  After some more of this, and with the advice of experienced restorers and grantwriters, the status of the project will be reevaluated.  To help advise and support the project are the members of the 375th Anniversary Committee.  Dan regularly attends meetings to see how his efforts might fit in with the rest of the plans, and to update the committee on his progress.

In the meantime, Dan is building a small wooden model of the Shallup he intends to reproduce.  Pictures are coming soon!
