Ipswich Bay 18

A sailing dory, of my own design, with a 12.5 foot waterline and fast cut.  I built this boat between Summer 2006 and January 2007.  This is a new class of sailing dory, inspired by historical decked sailing dories of the Massachusetts North Shore.  Its long, sleek design is reminiscent of the popular Laser.  This is a custom boat, one I would want for myself, ideal for day-sailing with two or three passengers.

Alpha Dory

A traditional dory design from the North Shore of Massachusetts, the Alpha Dory is great for day sailing, fishing and short overnights.

375th Anniversary Shallup

Currently in the Research and Planning stage, Dan Noyes is hoping to contribute to the 375th Anniversary of the Town of Newbury (2010) a replica of the Shallup boats that carried settlers to the shores of the Parker River in 1635.

Steam-Powered Model Boats

Between jobs, I've been working on some large-scale Pop-Pop steamboat designs.   Recently featured at a NEMES conference in Waltham, MA (New England Model Engineering Society), word is spreading fast about the unusually large 5-foot pop-pop dory I've built.
